Diamond 25 mkII – the smallest representative of the floor-standing speaker series in the new, refreshed version, with an unusual 2.5-way speaker differentiation for the midwoofers.
The top end of the frequency range is reproduced by a modified version of the well-known from the previous series tweeter by the Danish Scan-Speak, this time based on a neodymium magnetic system, with a front made of cellular rubber and a double resonance chamber. The modifications resulted in greater detail, control, and microdynamics in the highest frequencies, while simultaneously reducing non-linear distortions.
The upper midrange driver is a design from the Norwegian Seas, modified by our engineers. This time, it is equipped with a phase plug instead of a dust cap, providing more faithful reproduction of the crucial midrange, eliminating colorations in the higher range caused by resonances under the dust cap. Thanks to these adjustments, vocals have gained even more space and depth while retaining the character of the predecessor.
The lower end of the frequency range is entrusted to the midwoofer known from the previous design, equipped with a long and light aluminum-copper coil, ensuring sufficient dynamics, speed, and versatility in reproducing the lowest registers. Both drivers were made using the Spider Ring technology developed for better control of the High-End class production process.
In comparison to its predecessor, the column’s design has also undergone a subtle facelift. The shape has an increased tilt, and the transducers have been brought closer together, which, besides aesthetic qualities, improves the time integration of individual frequency bands. The column’s base has also been completely redesigned, giving the ensemble a sleeker silhouette while maintaining a minimalist character. In addition to carefully designed, precisely placed reinforcements and ribs, we have used, alongside natural sheep’s wool, a new sound-absorbing material. The entire system has been tested using a laser vibrometer and our anechoic chamber.
In the design of the new version of Diamonds, we have achieved an improvement in sound compared to the first version, while maintaining the same sound philosophy and a simple, timeless design. The top end of the frequency range has gained greater detail, the midrange has become more neutral and natural, while maintaining excellent depth, speed, and bass precision.
These speakers are dedicated to rooms ranging from 15 to 30 square meters.
