Description
Eclipse is the flagship power cable in the SoundWireâ„¢ range, engineered for reference-grade audio systems and the highest-current power applications. Designed for uncompromising performance, Eclipse combines large cross-sectional silver-plated OFC conductors, advanced dielectric materials, comprehensive shielding, and premium vibration control to deliver exceptional power transfer, outstanding electrical stability, and long-term reliability.
Eclipse is EGM’s brand-new top-performing flagship design and is rather special. The bright green coloured silicon sheath is smooth and unlike most other cables that you have seen previously. Holding the cable in your hands, you will be surprised and aware of the substantial weight of this thick and heavy cable. The outer diameter of the cable is a whopping 17mm! With two thick cores of 10 gauge or 6mm2 each, (each core able to carry 30A current) it feels insanely overspecified and can instantly transmit lots of AC current to your amplifier or device without any hesitation or lag. There are also three earth cores of 13-gauge (2.5mm²) wire.
All the cores are high purity OFC copper with a pure silver plating over the copper. Naturally its shielded and braided against EMF and other nasties. It is terminated with EGM’s best 3rd generation Silver plated Copper pins within thickly moulded, vibration resistant barrel ends. Although being a thick cable it is still flexible enough for it to be connected easily into your system.

At its core, Eclipse features five conductors, comprising One (1) Active × 6.0 mm², One (1) Neutral × 6.0 mm², and Three (3) Earth × 2.5 mm² extra-fine stranded Class 5 Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC 99.9%) conductors with ASTM B298 Class B silver plating. The substantially larger 6.0 mm² Active and Neutral conductors provide an extremely low-resistance current path with increased current-carrying capacity and reduced voltage drop, making Eclipse ideally suited to demanding high-power audio equipment.
Each conductor is individually insulated with Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP), one of the industry’s lowest-loss dielectric materials, providing exceptional electrical performance, low dielectric losses, high insulation resistance, and outstanding thermal stability. A precision PE dielectric filler maintains conductor geometry, while a dedicated RS-150 silicone elastomer vibration-damping layer provides additional mechanical isolation before the shielding system.
A 100% coverage aluminium/Mylar foil shield, combined with a minimum 85% coverage Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC 99.9%) braided shield, delivers broad-spectrum protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio-frequency interference (RFI), ensuring exceptionally clean and stable power delivery. The cable is completed with a premium RS-150 silicone elastomer outer sheath, offering outstanding flexibility, vibration damping, and resistance to heat, UV exposure, moisture, oils, ozone, and industrial chemicals.
