Fusion is engineered as the premium performance power cable within the SoundWire™ range, designed for reference-level two-channel and home theatre systems where exceptional power delivery, low electrical noise, and outstanding mechanical stability are essential.
The Fusion power cable is similar to our Eclipse Reference cable but with multiple thinner conductors. The cable has a substantial 15mm outer diameter finished in a red silicon high-grade outer sheath that has superior self-damping. It has the same noise reduction design as the Eclipse, while being more flexible and easier to handle than the thicker Eclipse cable, but is still heavier and thicker than its competitors. It is terminated with EGM’s best 3rd generation Silver plated Copper pins within thickly moulded, vibration resistant barrel ends.
Building upon the foundation established by the Spectra series, Fusion features a significantly more advanced nine-conductor architecture, comprising three parallel Active (3 × 1 mm²), three parallel Neutral (3 × 1 mm²), and three parallel Earth (3 × 2.5 mm²) silver-plated 99.9% Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) conductors. This parallel conductor configuration provides a lower impedance current path, increased current-carrying capability, improved conductor symmetry, and enhanced flexibility, making Fusion ideally suited to high-current audio components.

Each conductor is individually insulated with Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP), one of the industry’s lowest-loss dielectric materials, providing exceptionally low dielectric absorption, excellent insulation resistance, and outstanding thermal stability. The precision cable geometry is maintained using a low-dielectric PE rope filler, helping preserve conductor spacing while reducing conductor movement under flex.
A dedicated RS-150 silicone elastomer vibration-damping layer surrounds the insulated conductors before the shielding system, providing mechanical isolation that helps minimise the transmission of vibration through the cable while protecting the internal conductor assembly. This additional damping layer distinguishes Fusion from Spectra and contributes to the cable’s premium mechanical construction.
Fusion employs a comprehensive dual-layer shielding system, combining a 100% coverage aluminium/Mylar foil shield with a minimum 85% coverage Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC 99.9%) braided shield. This design provides broad-spectrum suppression of both high- and low-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), while maintaining a low-impedance earth path and improving overall shielding effectiveness in electrically demanding environments.
The cable is completed with a premium RS-150 silicone elastomer outer sheath, offering exceptional flexibility together with outstanding resistance to UV, ozone, moisture, oils, acids, and industrial chemicals. Its vibration-damping characteristics and mechanical resilience ensure long-term reliability while protecting the internal cable construction.
